Welcome back to another edition of Battle of the Base Wheels. In our !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , we took a look at members of the half-ton pickup segment. It was a landslide of Reagan vs. Mondale proportions as the GM siblings ran away with nearly 69% of the vote.
Mr. Gorbachev could have used this to tear down and haul away that pesky wall.

Today we venture in to the shallower end of the pickup pool and let the midsizers duke it out. Before you ask about the Ridgeline (I’m looking at you, Collins), there is no configurator currently available, so it has not been included.

Yeah, this one’s a but unfair. I double checked and those are indeed the cheapest wheels you can get on a Canyon. Also, none of them come in a single cab. What the hell.

I’m actually a touch surprised none come in single. But this is a brutal comparo. GMC should sell more trucks just because of the base wheels.

I feel like you should modify the challenge, and make this a battle of the steelies. Clearly the GMC is the nicest wheel by a country mile here, but if it were just steelies, we’d have a battle here.

Misread the initial question, thought was which base truck is the best, not which base truck wheels are the best. As much as an F-150 fan that I am, it certainly does not have the nicest base wheels.

I agree. The Colorado looks really good in basic white work truck form. They always manage to turn my head.

This is probably the only segment where steelies are going to be so common. I think GMC deserves a win for not offering them.
